Last Thursday, July 15, 2021, ProAactivity organized the training workshop "Guarantees of human rights in vulnerable groups" at the facilities of MOSCTHA (Socio-cultural movement for Haitian workers). This activity was carried out as part of the project Civil society organizations promote, advocate, demand and monitor the application of institutional guarantees of human rights for vulnerable groups in Greater Santo Domingo.
This intervention via workshops was given to a group of technicians and volunteers who work with the migrant population in Santo Domingo, for this the results of the analysis of human rights violations with emphasis on the civil and political rights of vulnerable groups were taken into account. where it showed a high rate of violation of human rights to immigrants.
The main objective was to contribute to the strengthening of governance and the rule of law in the guarantee and timely protection of the human rights of vulnerable groups. Through the participation and awareness of civil society organizations and community leaders as interlocutors with influence in the defense of human rights, strategies and access routes are strengthened to guarantee that human rights are complied with.
Activities carried out in the workshop

We carry out this dynamic that we will see below to learn about the legal framework, institutional and supranational guarantees for the protection of human rights. We used a rope to link with the participants, who individually had to read an article of the universal declaration of Human Rights.
Then it was discussed if it was known or if it was complied with, how we can contribute for these to be applied as the civil society organizations guarantee their compliance.
At the end a reflection.
Rights Map

Participants are divided into a map and into two groups, they are in charge of interacting about the human rights that are being violated in their communities and they capture them on a map using their creativity, then a person representing the group exposes their problems and process that must be followed in order for human rights to be restored.
